Content | Content is King (& Other Blogging Myths)

You've heard it before: "Content is KING". In fact, you've heard it so often that you have probably started believing it. And as a result you are probably completely overlooking some of the more important aspects of blogging. Hey, don't feel bad. I believed it too for a really long time.

Content | Content is King (& Other Blogging Myths)

Until I realized that my posts weren't getting Pinned or shared and no one was leaving me comments. Until I headed over to the blogs run by bloggers I admire and wondered what the heck they had that I didn't.

Let me tell you folks, when I finally really thought about it and analyzed the major differences between me and them, content didn't even make the list. Wanna know what did? You know what to do...

Content | Images: Naming, Titles & Alt Tags

By now you all well know that SEO is your ticket to higher page ranking which means more page views (which means more sales or clients, and so on). Aside from plugging your post with great keywords, SEO is also something we need to be doing to all of our images.

Images: Naming, Titles & Alt Tags

I know there are a ton of posts out there about alt tags and such for photos. I never claimed to be able to reinvent the wheel after all. But with things such as this, everyone has a bit of a different way of going about things. And today I am going to show you my personal method for getting images ready and posted.

Get clicky wit it!

Content | Deleting Your Old or Embarrassing Content

I would bet all the chocolate in my stash that when you first started blogging you wrote about anything that seemed people would want to read and added a whole lot of photos and graphics that violated every copyright infringement law that is currently in place. I will also be that you didn't know any better and that you hadn't put in the research needed to make sure you A | weren't violating anything and B | actually had no idea what your "blogging voice" actually was.

I would also wager my chocolate stash and my wine stash that you still have all those posts sitting on your blog, embarrassing you and the professional blogger that you have since become. You're not really sure what to do with those posts; can they be salvaged? Can you delete them? What the heck do you do with them now that you have found your voice and you're doing rather well as a blogger (if you do say so yourself ha!)

Content | Deleting Your Old or Embarrassing Content

Well my lovelies, Elley is here to save the day. I have some fantastic solutions to the old and embarrassing content dilemma you currently find yourself in as well as what you actually can do with those old posts. Ready to see them? Clickity clack, Jack!

Blogging | How to Plan A Scheduled Blog Break

I don't know how many of you noticed that I haven't been posting on Elle Ay Esse: Personal + Lifestyle Blog at all lately. The truth is that I haven't had time. I wish I had taken the time to schedule my blogs break but I didn't and now I am facing all kinds of challenges with coming back when I am finally ready to carve out some time to post. Take it from me personally when I say that if I could go back and schedule a long break for myself, I would leap at the opportunity.

Sadly I can't go back and change my unscheduled blogging break, but I can give you all a guide on how to plan one for yourself.

Blogging is hard. And sometimes life happens. When it does, be prepared by scheduling a blogging break the easy way.

So if you're considering taking a blogging break or don't want to be caught unprepared, get clicky with it and let's go!
