Marketing | How Email Signatures Can Shave Hours Off Your Day + Examples I Use Daily

If you're a fan on Facebook or a fellow Tweeter you may have already seen me mention using email signature templates to keep yourself at inbox zero and not have to take half your work day to do it. I mean, who doesn't want to shave hours of their day so they can get to the good stuff? "it's fine, I'll get to it sooner or later", said no creativepreneur ever!

Marketing | How Email Signatures Can Shave Hours Off Your Day + Examples I Use Daily

And that is where email signatures some in, helping you cut back on unnecessary time spent on tasks that aren't priority anyway. After all, the sooner you handle the spam, forwards and other quick emails, the sooner you can get to the good stuff that actually earns you money!

The "Thanks but No-Thanks" Signature

How many pitches to do a post on something that not only won't pay you and won't offer you a product in return do you get? You don't send them directly to spam in case you're hard up for content later but you need to say, well, something! Keep this one simple and to the point.

The "Just A Reminder" Signature

Got a client that drags her feet? Or maybe you have several who take their sweet time paying you. Create a "reminder" email so that all you need to do is customize their names and details. You can elaborate as much or as little as needed and having just the basics in a signature template will save you time.

The "Pitch It To Them" Signature

It's called "cold-pitching" for a reason. It does appear canned and impersonal to send out a pitch to someone you don't know. When creating this signature, keep in mind how many cold-pitches the recipient sees land in their inbox each hour. Make yours stand out. And trust me, no one will even realize you're using a canned reply if you do it right ;)

The "Needs" Signature

This is probably the most detailed signature you could create. You should keep a list of everything you need from individuals and save it as a signature. You can still customize everything as needed and have a template at your finger tips,

Other Signatures that come in handy:

The "Standard" Signature
I have a specific email I signature that has my signature, urls and where I can be found online that goes in to every email I send. I make sure that it also goes at the bottom of all my signature templates so that everything is flush and compliments my brand.

The "Reply" Signature
Sometimes you have been replying to someone for long enough that you just don't need all those details. This is where a simple reply signature comes in. Mine has just my graphic signature and a link to my website. This really simplifies matters and still allows me to show brand consistency and professionalize without a million details.

I have to say that ever since I have started implementing an email signature system, I reach inbox zero every single day. It also allows me more time to work on my posts, designs or whatever else that needs doing. Game changer!
